Julius Waweru Karangi is a retired General of the Kenya Defense Forces. Until May 4th 2015 he was the Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (CDF). The Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (CDF) is the highest-ranking military officer in the Kenya Defence Forces and the principal military adviser to the President of the Republic of Kenya and the National Security Council. ==Military career== Julius Karangi joined the Kenya Air Force in 1973. He went on to train as a Cadet in the UK whereby he was commissioned as an officer in 1974.
